Exact-decimal rule: arithmetic uses scaled integers. Compare/order normalizes place values as integers too, so 0.9 vs 0.85 and 0.5 vs 0.50 are compared exactly—not as strings or rounded floats.

Place-value traps are deliberate

Mixed precision can place values such as 0.9 beside 0.85 or equivalent forms such as 0.5 and 0.50. Internally, the generator converts them to a common integer scale, so the comparison remains exact.

Can the worksheet mix tenths and hundredths?

Yes. In compare/order mode, Precision style can mix place values up to the selected maximum, such as tenths with hundredths or thousandths.

Can equal decimals look different?

Yes. Compare mode can include equivalent place-value forms such as 0.5 and 0.50 when the selected precision allows it.

How are decimals compared?

Values are normalized to a common integer scale before comparison, so no string comparison or binary floating-point rounding is used.

What does Order 3 do?
